The Director George T. Moore water lily was produced by the famous Missouri Botanical Garden hybridizer George Pring in 1941 and named after George T. Moore who was the director of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, Missouri. It has one of the deepest violet blossoms produced in water lilies. The stamens are also purple but the center is a striking golden color. The back of a developing pad has a characteristic purple coloring representative of the beautiful developing purple flower.
Lily pad is 4 to 10 inches in diameter. Blooms as early as May, and ends in October. Exact time varies per state. This lily is tropical, and will not survive the winter outside.
Born and raised in Central New York, my fascination with freezing moments in time began decades ago when I took my very first Polaroid snapshot. In recent years, the introduction of digital photography has proven to be a game-changer with its limitless opportunities. Utilizing this avenue, I strive to capture unique, eye-catching images while concentrating on color vibrance, energy and breathtaking beauty.
